For some years, Cian Giuseppe has been living in Roncoi with his big family: his wife and eight sons. His house was composed by his own home, a cellar and a stall with an hayloft. |
In 1926, my grandfather bought from Mr Casanova Giovanni an house in Torbe. The groundfloor consisted of the kitchen with a large fireplace and a small dining room with a wooden floor and a masonry stove. Through an external stone flight of steps, you went up on the wooden balcony which gave access to two rooms and to the steep stairs which rose to the attic. (NEXT…) |
The name of my grandmother was Caterina, but everybody called her Maria and so called us. “Tabià” is a dialect word which means hayloft. In this case, it refers to a piece of the stall and the hayloft dates from 800’s century and was bought by my grandparents in 1926. Then the building was enlarged and a room for working, a laboratory, a depository and an attic used as an hayloft were created. (NEXT…) |
